New me - Week Two

Posted in My life tagged , , at 10:31 am by Nici

I haven’t lost a pound this week but neither haveĀ I gained any either.

So what’s gone wrong? Well I have no idea, I have been sticking to my 1400 Kcals a day, I went to the gym twice and I did some walking. I did go to a party on Saturday night which had a free bar and a buffet but to be honest I hadn’t lost any weight before I went.

Any ideas anyone? Surely I should have lost something? :(

I don’t thing anything went wrong. Sometimes you just hit a flat. Sometimes you may even gain a bit. It’s not a straight line. Don’t feel discouraged. It’s all part of the process. You’re on the right track, as long as you don’t give up.

    Hang in there!
    *hugs*

Thanks ii for the words of encouragment! It makes you feel “why do I bother?” when you don’t see results.

Some weeks you just don’t lose weight no matter what yuo do, but loko at it in a positive way - you didn’t GAIN any weight either, and that’s a good thing. :) Also, if you’ve been doing a lot of exercise, I’m guessing you’re toning up a fair old bit and building muscle. The thing about muscle is that it’s denser than fat so although it doesn’t weigh more than fat, it same weight takes up less room. Hence, muscly people often weigh more than the podgy ones, even though they look slimmer.

Anyway, you’re getting fitter and healthier - that’s a big bonus too. Well done to you!

Kell is right…you might have lost some fat pounds, but gained some muscle pounds. Some say that you shouldn’t track your progress by the scale, especially if you’re working out a lot, like you are. Try measuring inches, like around your waist, hips, arms, and thighs. Then you can see if you’re losing inches, which I’m sure you are!

Thanks Kell and Sarah. I haven’t been measuring my waist etc so I think I will start doing that just incase I am loosing inches not Ibs!
And you are quite right that muscle weighs more than fat so maybe that’s what it is… :)
